CPNI Information
Customer Proprietary Network Information
LPC Connect is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our customers. LPC Connect does not sell customers’ proprietary network information (CPNI) to unaffiliated third parties for sales and marketing purposes.
Your Account Information
In the normal course of providing telephone service, LPC Connect maintains certain information about customer accounts. This information, known as Customer Proprietary Network Information, or CPNI for short, includes information typically available from details on your monthly bill, including calling patterns, types of products and services in use, and long distance and local service billing records. CPNI does not include your name, address, or telephone number.
A recent ruling by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allows us to now choose the way customers grant permission to access CPNI data. This change helps us easily access your CPNI information so we can tell you about LPC Connect products and services, packages and promotions that may be of value to you. This change saves you time and potentially, money.
This change in policy and process in no way alters our commitment to your privacy. LPC Connect does not sell CPNI to unaffiliated third parties and abides by the federal and state CPNI rules that apply to all telecommunication carriers. If you choose to restrict access to your CPNI you can notify us by phone. You can talk to a customer service representative by calling (319) 342-3369.
However, if you do not choose to restrict access to CPNI, our representatives will not ask for your permission each time you call. Instead, they will automatically review your CPNI records each time you call to provide tailored suggestions on the products and services, packages and promotions that best meet your specific calling and usage needs.
Improved Service
CPNI information also allows us to make more meaningful suggestions to you when discussing products and services, packages and promotions that best suit your communications needs. Representatives are able to make you aware of targeted discounts or special offers that may help you save time and money. Research shows that our customers want recommendations on the right products and services that fit their needs. We can tell you about products and services, packages and promotions.
An important message about the privacy of your customer information
Under federal law, you may restrict LPC Connect from using your CPNI when we wish to market to you certain products and services you do not currently purchase from us. CPNI includes the type, technical arrangement, quantity, destination, and amount of use of telecommunications services and related billing for these services. With your permission, we can use CPNI to offer you additional products and services that are governed by the Federal Communications Commission, such as those of our affiliates, which will best meet your needs or may save you money. For example, we might use your CPNI to offer you LPC Connect High Speed Internet, LPC Connect Dial or long distance service offered in the future.
If you would like to give us permission to use your CPNI to market additional products and services from LPC Connect, you don’t need to do anything.
There are some important things you should know when making your decision since protecting the privacy of your CPNI is your right and our duty under federal law:
- We will not sell, trade, or share your CPNI with anyone outside of LPC Connect, or others authorized to represent us to offer our products or services, except as may be required by law.
- If you decide not to give us permission, simply call (319) 632-3369 and speak to a Service Representative.
- Your decision to permit our use of CPNI or to restrict our use of CPNI will remain in effect until you change it, which you can do at any time, at no charge.
- Your decision only relates to our use of CPNI to market additional products and services as described here. It will not restrict or eliminate other types of marketing contacts.
The protection of your privacy, and respecting your wishes, is of utmost importance to us. The employees and management of LPC Connect would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued business.
We are proud to carry on our tradition of providing our community with reliable, technologically advanced and affordable telecommunications services and we continue to seek ways to provide you the best possible service.
Remember – if you give us permission to use your CPNI to market additional products and services from LPC Connect, you don’t need to do anything.
